Top-Selling Construction Equipment 2024 Summary

I recently read an article in Equipment World titled Best-Selling Construction Equipment of 2024 by Jordanne Waldschmidt that is worth reading.  Here are some key points of the article.

New financed construction equipment sales in the U.S. saw a significant increase in 2024, rising by 11.6% compared to 2023, with nearly 153,000 units sold. Depending on machine type, financed machines represent 40% to 75% of the total number.

The top four manufacturers Cat, Kubota, Bobcat, and Deere held their positions at the top of the rankings while Case moved into fifth place, surpassing Komatsu. JCB entered the top ten, displacing Sany.

The states with the highest purchase rates were Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and California. The best-sellers were compact equipment … like compact track loaders, skid steers, and mini excavators.  These Financed purchases represent a significant portion of total sales, especially for higher-priced equipment.

One interesting point was that compact utility loaders are gaining popularity and have moved into the top five equipment types sold.
